Burger King Nigeria has made a significant mark with the opening of its 16th store at the Muritala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) in Ikeja, Lagos. This expansion underscores their commitment to revolutionizing the quick-service restaurant industry in Nigeria.
The grand opening was a notable event, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a kitchen tour, and a lucky dip where one guest won a free return flight courtesy of Ibom Air. Rushdi Ibrahim, the Managing Director and CEO of Allied Foods and Confectionery Services Limited, expressed pride in the rapid expansion, noting that they have opened 16 restaurants in just 33 months.
The decision to open at MMA2 was strategic, aiming to cater to the diverse tastes of numerous passengers at Nigeria’s premier airport. Burger King has also adapted its menu to local tastes, introducing items like yam fries, plantain, and potato cubes, while maintaining its brand identity.
Rushdi emphasized Burger King’s commitment to adapting to local tastes while maintaining its brand essence. He stated, “While we innovate, we remain true to our brand essence. We won’t deviate from who we are – the Home Of The Whopper.”
The partnership with Ibom Air is particularly noteworthy, as it allows both brands to leverage each other’s platforms for marketing activations, enhancing their visibility in the Nigerian market. Aniekan Essienette, Group Manager of Marketing and Communication at Ibom Air, highlighted the value of this collaboration.
This expansion highlights Burger King’s dedication to providing high-quality, flavorful food and adapting to the needs of its diverse customer base. It’s an exciting development for both the brand and its customers in Nigeria.
