Capgemini, a consulting firm, predicts a new era of collaborative AI by 2025. This “multi-agent AI” would involve teams of AI agents working together. Imagine an AI for marketing campaigns in Germany discussing its ideas with a legal AI to ensure everything is compliant.
This kind of communication and collaboration would allow AIs to tackle complex tasks more effectively.
Capgemini released a report on Monday titled “Harnessing the Value of Generative AI“. This report highlights the US as a frontrunner in adopting a new type of AI technology: multi-agent AI. Unlike traditional AI, these “chatty” AI agents can work together.
Stating in the report, the Capgemini report surveyed over 1,100 large companies and found that a significant majority (82%) plan to integrate AI agents within the next few years. Only 7% have no plans to use this technology. There are two main types of AI agents: individual agents that complete specific tasks and multi-agent AI, which involves collaboration between AI agents.
Capgemini explains that these AI agents are distinct from traditional AI because they can act more independently. They can “understand, interpret, adapt, and act” without needing constant human input. In some cases, they may even be able to replace human workers for specific tasks.
