China Builds Chip Industry with Older Technology

A technology expert named Ben Barringer, who analyzes global trends for the investment firm Quilter Cheviot, has shed light on China’s approach to building its semiconductor industry.

According to Barringer, China is facing a hurdle: restrictions on exporting certain equipment have made it difficult for them to acquire the most advanced tools. This means China is relying on what are called “more mature machines” to lay the foundation for their chip production.

These machines may not be the absolute cutting edge, but they still hold the potential to create functional semiconductors.
