Prof. Charles Ogbulogo, Vice-Chancellor of Maduka University in Ekwegbe-Nsukka, Enugu State, has highlighted the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who are equipped to create jobs rather than seek them. Speaking in Nsukka after inspecting facilities at JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd. and G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd., Ogbulogo emphasized the university’s focus on entrepreneurship.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the facilities at both companies and announced plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with them to enhance entrepreneurship training. He stated that Maduka University aims for its graduates to acquire at least two vocational skills by the time they complete their studies, ensuring they become self-reliant job creators.
Chief Ifeanyichukwu Okpo, Managing Director of JOFRAN Global Concept Ltd., welcomed the partnership with Maduka University. Okpo, who also directs the Centre for Agriculture at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, explained that his company specializes in bee farming, honey processing, and exporting honey and its by-products.
Similarly, Mr. Peter Onyeke, Managing Director of G-Techno Interleague Nig Ltd., shared insights into his company’s operations, which include machine fabrication and the processing of agro food, vegetables, and spices. Onyeke expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Maduka University to equip graduates with essential skills for job creation.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied on the inspection by Dr. Dan Ochi, Vice President (Business Development) of the Nsukka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Both companies are expected to play a significant role in the university’s entrepreneurial training programs.
